Nelson Digital LLC respects the privacy of the people we work with. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you visit our website, contact us, arrange a consultation, or use our web design and website support services.
For privacy questions or requests, email aidan@nelsonwebstudio.com.
01. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you inquire about a project or work with us, we collect the information you choose to provide, including your name, business name, address, phone number, email address, project requirements, and the contents of our correspondence. We also receive appointment details and information you share during consultations.
Website information. Our website is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace receives technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, referring pages, and visit activity. Some information is collected through cookies or similar technologies. The information available to us depends on the website settings and your browser choices.
Please provide only information relevant to your inquiry or project. Do not submit sensitive personal information, payment card details, or passwords through general contact forms or email.
02. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries, understand your business and project needs, prepare proposals, schedule consultations, deliver website design and support, and communicate about our work together. We also use relevant records to administer our business, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our website and services against misuse.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to take steps you request before a contract, perform our agreement with you, support legitimate business interests such as responding to inquiries and protecting our services, comply with legal obligations, or act on your consent when required.
03. Who receives information
We share information with service providers as needed to operate our website, communicate with you, and deliver our services. Our current tools include:
- Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes website traffic and information submitted through its features. Squarespace also processes certain visitor information for its own purposes, as described in its Privacy Policy.
- Google Calendar and Google Meet, which we use to arrange appointments and hold consultations. Appointment information may include your name, email address, meeting time, and relevant project details. Participation in a meeting also involves information you choose to share, such as audio, video, chat, or screen content. Google's handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy.
We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale, subject to applicable legal protections. We may also share information at your direction.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising pixels or Google Analytics on this website.
04. Cookies and website analytics
Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the website. Depending on site settings, Squarespace analytics may also collect information about visits and website performance. These tools are separate from Google Analytics.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, the website's cookie controls. Blocking cookies may affect some features. See Squarespace's cookie information for more details.
Browser Do Not Track signals do not have a uniform technical standard, and this website does not promise a specific response to them. Where required by law, we honor recognized privacy preference signals. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising regardless of whether such a signal is enabled.
05. Communications and your choices
When you contact us or arrange a consultation, we use your details to reply and send relevant appointment or project communications. You can ask us to stop optional follow-up messages by emailing us. We may still send communications needed to deliver an active project, administer our agreement, or comply with legal obligations.
You can choose not to provide information, although we may then be unable to respond, schedule a meeting, or provide a requested service.
06. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. The period depends on the nature of your inquiry or project, our ongoing relationship, and applicable contract, accounting, tax, and legal requirements.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, subject to legitimate retention requirements and routine backup cycles. You can contact us to ask about retention or request deletion of your information.
07. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, email system, or online service can guarantee complete security. If you believe information shared with us has been compromised, please contact us promptly.
08. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to receive information in a portable format or complain to a privacy regulator.
Send requests to aidan@nelsonwebstudio.com. Describe your request and the information or interaction it concerns. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Where permitted by law, an authorized representative may make a request with evidence of authority. We respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any legal exception that prevents us from fulfilling a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
09. Where information is processed
Our service providers may store or process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use the safeguards required for the relevant processing.
10. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for business owners and professional contacts, and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
11. Client websites and external services
This policy covers information Nelson Digital LLC handles for its own business. A website we create or maintain for a client is governed by that client's privacy policy. When we process information on a client's behalf, our agreement and the client's instructions govern that work.
Links to external websites and services may take you to platforms with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
